Airbus launched its single-aisle product line with the A320, which continues to set industry standards for comfort and operating economy on short- to medium-haul routes. The wide fuselage provides wider seats and more room for carry-on baggage, and containerised freight can be accommodated in the lower hold. The A320 can transport 12 first class and 138 economy class passengers.
